John Baci is the Senior Director of Pathology, Financial Operations & Strategic Planning at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Chief Operating Officer of the Boston Children’s Hospital Pathology Foundation. Prior to this role, John served as the Executive Director of Pathology for 26 years.
John has only 42 years’ experience in pathology and laboratory healthcare administration, strategic planning, and medical practice management. John has also had leadership roles within most national pathology organizations including the ASCP, APF and AAPATH.
John currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Pathology Foundation and is the Director of the ASCP Internship Academy, a new initiative providing comprehensive resources for institutions who may have interest in developing STEM-based internship programs to expose students to careers in the clinical laboratory industry.
John was the recipient of the 2017 Pathology Department Administrators (PDAS) Distinguished Service Award from the ssociation of Pathology Chairs in recognition of extraordinary contributions in the field of academic pathology administration.
John has an MBA from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and a BS in Biology/Anatomy from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He is an avid gardener and carpenter and has the world’s cutest dog, Maggie!
