Evan Brooksby is a graduate of the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He was self-employed in New York’s capital district for 20 years in various business endeavors. In 2011, he earned his Master of Business Administration in Healthcare at Union Graduate College in Schenectady, NY (Now Clarkson).
Post-graduation, he worked at Albany Medical Center, where he supported several projects, including the certification of 4 practice sites as NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Homes and hypertension quality improvement. He was the Deputy Director of the Center for Health Systems Transformation at Albany Medical Center Hospital (Better Health for Northeastern New York (BHNNY)). He led the AMCH Delivery System Redesign Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program in Albany, Saratoga, Warren, Columbia, and Greene Counties. He joined the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) in March 2016 as Director of Policy, Analysis & Special Projects. He led the HANYS Statewide DSRIP Executive Leadership group working with healthcare systems across the state and the Department of Health on DSRIP and the transition to value-based payment, population health, workforce, and other policy initiatives. He is a member of MGMA and ACHE and participates in the LGBTQ Healthcare Leaders Community.
He was an adjunct instructor at Clarkson University from 2017 until August 2022, when he joined the faculty full-time. He teaches Healthcare Finance, Marketing, and Leadership courses and has lectured on delivery system redesign, workforce, population health, and the transition to Value-Based Payments. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Hometown Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center in Schenectady, New York. Living with his partner in Saratoga Springs, he is a father and co-parent of 4, an instrument-rated private pilot, and has competed internationally in barbershop choruses and quartets.
