    Gena Weir, MPH, FACMPE, PMP, is the Director of Strategy and Operations at the University of Colorado, bringing over 25 years of distinguished healthcare leadership experience. She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Colorado School of Public Health and is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

    Gena’s career spans nonprofit clinics, for-profit organizations, health systems, private clinical practices, and academic institutions. Her broad experience informs her strategic approach to operations, leadership development, and organizational performance. She currently serves on the ACMPE Commission for the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), contributing to the advancement of professional standards in medical practice leadership. A committed mentor and educator, Gena is passionate about cultivating the next generation of healthcare leaders.

    A Colorado native, Gena embraces the state’s dynamic outdoor culture. She is an avid skier, golfer, cyclist, hiker, and outdoor yoga enthusiast. Her leadership philosophy is grounded in effective communication—anchored in empathy, integrity, and compassion—combined with a collaborative spirit built on responsibility, respect, and duty. She is deeply committed to continuous personal and professional improvement.
